Burgerama review by John Becker Pocket PC Louisville

Ballshooter Games has come up with another great puzzle game. It’s called Burgerama. The object is to create the orders as requested in order to continue to the next level. On the first level, you are required to make a pattern four items, such as four soft drinks, four fries, etc. Each time you move one of the items, more will appear on the screen. Be careful to not let the screen fill up! That would be game over! The next levels are even trickier. You’ll need to make four in a row or five in a row to complete the order.

Occasionally, you’ll be given a special order. It will be displayed in the lower right hand corner of the screen. You’ll need to make the order exactly as it appears. There is no requirement for doing a special order, but you’ll get an Easter egg when it’s completed. This Easter egg is a wild card that can be used as any item. As you go up through the levels, the Easter egg will become a bomb (will remove items around the next completed order), cash (removes the order, plus any of the same color from the screen), and time (which prevents more items from appearing on the board). All of these will last only a short while, so use them quickly.

One of the nice features of this game is you can quit and return to the exact point where you left off. The game itself is not as easy at it looks. The screen can fill quickly, so you need to make the orders quickly. Once the cash register is full, you move up the ladder to be promoted.

It’s an addicting little game. I’ve been playing in my spare time and find it challenging enough to play over and over. The game might end quickly if you’re not making the matches. It’s not like any other game I’ve seen. The music is entertaining and the graphics will make you smile.

HINT: Don’t worry about making the special orders right away. This can take a while and you end up filling the screen too quickly. Continue to make the regular orders to keep the screen cleared. However those special orders give you more money.

Info from Ballshooter’s Website:

Never played a crazy economics puzzle? Try Burgerama - a career ladder puzzle game, where your final objective is to become the Big Boss of Burgerama. To climb Burgerama's career ladder you have to arrange orders. There are different game objects, like drinks, pepper shakers, french fries, ice cream and burgers, of course. Your objective is to arrange them in a certain formation. When you form your order correctly, the objects disappear and you get points. Plus, there is a bonus formation for rush orders (different from a regular one) that awards you extra points, when done correctly. Plus, you get bonus objects, like cash, Easter eggs and bombs. Plus, you get 50 unique levels; Three original soundtracks and sound effects; Continue the game from the point where you exit. Hours of pleasure and fun.

I’ve been playing the game for about a week now. Both of my kids have also been playing. I think we’re all addicted!

Let’s get moving and get those orders out to the customers! Hungry people are waiting!!!

The game sells for only $9.95 and will work on a wide variety of Pocket PC’s. Installation of the game was just over 2MB on my storage card.

UPDATE: Since completing my review of Burgerama, Ballshooter has updated the game and has included a step-by-step tutorial!
